I can't get this one to rotate...but think it is so cute. We were squirting him with squirt guns and this is how he protects himself!!

Swingset and SUMMER!!

Greg's project for the last week! THANKS to all who helped - it turned out great and Luke (as well as all of the other neighborhood kids) love it! Luke's pretty sure it's a fire truck, with it's ladder and the wheel on top, although today it was also a police car. He carries his fireman-guy-hat up the ladder and drives his firetruck! He has also learned to open the sliding door screen and will just let himself out whenever he feels like it. We're working on asking mommy and daddy to go outside, but he loves his new freedom!

At grams' and gramps' house. Mmm...tasty hot dog after swimming...

Grams, in the spirit of fire trucks, got Luke a little fire truck flip and (...well you know) and he LOVES it. He also thought it was pretty cool that Kylie could sit by him on it! We hope he's always so nice to her!!

He really loves his boat this year in gram's pool!

May

Luke and daddy on their way to IWU graduation...don't they look handsome?

With grams and gramps in early May

Greg's parents were generous enough to take Luke, Kylie and I on the 8+ hour drive to Track Nationals to watch Greg's team. We rode in the motor-home-bus (according to Luke) and had a great time. Luke loved to drive the motor-home-bus, mow and golf. Both kids traveled GREAT! IWU got 7th this year. They came into the meet seeded 16th, so they moved in the right direction! We all had lots of fun in the sunny heat of SE Ohio!

Kylie slept great on a pillow in this little basket - so great that she slept 7.5 hours one night...at which point I woke up and woke her up to feed her - I was worried!! That was pretty great though. Camping agrees with both the kids! They haven't slept that good since we've been back.
Back at mama's and papa's - Luke is imitating papaKylie showing off her cute little chubby-ness! I swear she grew overnight last week! She also started smiling, which is very cute, and gooing and cooing a little.

Luke's Birthday

Yes...behind on blogging again! April 17th (a mere 5 days after Kylie was born) was Luke's 2nd birthday. I think he was a little overwhelmed after all the excitement of easter, and a new sister, but he loved the presents and all the attention from relatives! Aunt Jaye made a beautiful cake - it killed me to cut it! Luke wore his new fire truck outfit from grams and had lots of fun playing with his 'papas' and everyone else all day. Thankfully, the grandparents and aunt Jaye took charge of the party...otherwise there probably wouldn't have been one!!

Kylie Grace Huffaker

Here is our newest arrival, Kylie Grace. What a great Easter present! She was born at 2:08 a.m. Easter Sunday, weighing in at 7 lbs. 6 oz. and measuring 20.5 in.

Luke giving his baby sister a kiss! He seems to like Kylie, as long as she isn't getting all of the attention. He did very well with her in the hospital, but lost interest pretty quickly and then wanted to go play.

April 3 & 4

It's been an exciting week for Luke - mama and papa Huffaker got home! He got to play with them all day on Friday, and even said 'good-bye' fine and everything...then a few minutes after they left became SO sad. He just cried and kept saying 'no papa go home'. Lucky for mom, he did recover...although I must say I got called 'papa' several times today while we were playing!!

Today we went to an Easter egg hunt in Normal. Luke was very excited once he saw the eggs, and kept saying 'readyyyyyy' while we waited in line. Luckily, we arrived late enough (!!) that we lined up at the correct field and got in before all the eggs were gone (it was for kids 3 and under...but some were ruthless!!) Luke was more than happy to watch everyone else pick up eggs, but was proud of the 6 he picked up with my prompting. (this while all the other kids were RUNNING and filling their baskets!) He didn't even protest when I had him give one of his eggs to a little boy who arrived too late to get any (although this didn't make the little boy any happier). Luke's such a good kid!! He probably had just as much fun playing on the playground after the big event! Then on the way home, he fell asleep while talking about his new fire truck from the garage sale we stopped at on the way. Whew!!

March

Luke in his gram's shoes
Snow at the end of march!?! There was A LOT more than this, but most of it had melted by the time it was warm enough to go outside.
Talking to daddy on the phone. What a big boy!
